841733 2009-12-23 02:39:00 I still go back to a RAV4.

2000 cc 4 cylinders

In my case I removed the back seats to make carrying space. I can put them back to carry passengers.

841734 2009-12-23 03:03:00 Never seen such a litany of bullshit. Australia is big country much same as usa and people there have driven holdens across Aussie towing things behind their FJs up to commodores since the early fifties. Real stinking hot place as well.
You yanks dont much about holden cars, sure they are from the general but they were based on English Vauxhalls to start with.
I personally hate holdens I am a Ford man but what you are saying is wrong dont apply your yankee ideas to aussie cars.Apart from being able to spell the word 'bullshit', wtf do you know? At least Surfer gives of his knowledge and experience, whereas you can only give a "litany" of remote outback Australia. Which incidently, is some 2 000 000 sq kilometres smaller than USA.

841735 2009-12-23 03:07:00 Not sure if its been suggested but a Commodore wagon, lots of room, will pull anything and not as bad as you might think on gas, go as modern as you can afford

Don't rate well in Dag and lemon. Also my experience with GM stuff is they are poorly made and fall apart. Their Barina for instance is just a rebadged Daewoos, horrible cheap cars.

841736 2009-12-23 03:10:00 A barina isnt a holden, its an embarassment. hueybot3000 (3646)

But then whatever you drive costs an extra $170 on a trip at least once.

2 000 000 sq kilometres bugger all.
Remote outback driving in Australia pretty good test for a car I would have thought.
Just because the yank can do a whole page rant on stuff he knows nothing about doesn't make him an eggspert.
