| 842034 | 2009-12-22 06:23:00 | That is the problem, if they had got the crook nerve from an accident, they would be entitled to ACC which you get upto 80% of your normal income. Only until they can bounce you off the system and onto the sickness benefit, and that is their core business, Getting you off ACC. First through rehabilitation, and if that fails, via their doctors, who will make a diagnosis based on your file,even if your file is completely at odds with their remote diagnosis. Though who knows whats in your file? I know any ACC claim for me comes under extra scrutiny and I'm made to jump through a few extra hoops. |

So I suggest the members of WINZ that were party to this should be tracked down and publicly flogged! That goes for the Doctor too! :mad: The Harris family has to have WINZ staff on backhanders, it could’t happen any other way. :mad: This is the post nearest to my thinking,in addition I wouldn't be surprised if the family get what they want by intimidation. Whatever,I wouldn't have thought it was that hard to investigate. I get that horrible sense that nothing will be done to our satisfaction,but you drive over a bridge that says not to and we will ruin you,all seems back to front and I can never understand how pubic servants get away with murder. |

From the article: Since then the family has been transferred to a special "remote monitoring" unit. The unit deals with Work and Income clients deemed too dangerous for face-to-face meetings with staff. Who can blame them. :( |

If they cant behave in their dealing with Winz then simply stop their payments, If they then act up, get the cops involved. The cops should then beat them down with batons. Oh wait, The cops would send em to court 4 months later at which time they would probably get an apology from the judge..... |

That was a few years ago but she has had constant medial issues since then, and she has another aneurysm still in her head. She has been told if they operate it will probably kill her, If they don't it will definitely kill her, Just a matter of when. So she lives with her death sentence. She gets $140 a week sickness benefit, Just barely enough to almost live a poor quality life. If she takes on any work they bounce her off the sickness benefit onto the unemployment benefit and start trying to push her into full time work,which she can't do as shes is a sick woman. I recently discovered she was doing shift work in a god damn pet food factory to try and earn some money to buy her grand kids some Christmas presents, It was destroying her.And no doubt the system is ready to pounce on her and penalize her, make her life harder then it is already. |

That's horrible. It really makes me sick myself to hear of a case like that when scum like Harris is getting all that moolah. She's off the job now I believe metla? |
