| 841704 | 2009-12-21 03:40:00 | I personally don't care for Mazdas as I find they require more transmission repairs than most other Japanese makes. I operated a fleet of Mazdas that were flogged to within an inch of their lives in commercial use doing high speed runs up and down the country and not one required engine or transmission repairs during its service life. Maybe you Yanks use them to tow home your Jeeps, Chevs, Dodges or Fords when they clap out (again) and that's what is causing the transmission failures? Mind you, all were 5-speed manuals so that may make a difference, towing a Cherokee home through Death Valley via a slush box might just cause an issue or two from transmission overheating. I did 500,000K in three consecutive Mazdas without failures, then when I bought my own vehicle (Mazda of course) that did 211,000 km before I sold it with no transmission problems and I'm up to 120,000 on the next one. Overall in the last 25+ years I've done about 1.5 million km in Mazdas and Toyotas without a breakdown (or a flat tire!). Your mileage may vary. Cheers Billy 8-{) :2cents: |

They aren't really even freeway fliers and they are best for soccer moms to herd kids to/from games and school picnics . At 22 MPG they are really inexpensive to drive and nowhere as cramped as the Mazda Clown Car . |

Right, I'm afraid the yanks wouldn't know a gas guzzler when they saw one . . . . :) . . . quote from the above site . . . "Gas Guzzler no" Er, hang on . . 15mpg (US gallons) city driving, and that is not a gas guzzler??? They've just had years and years of cheap gas, even now their gas is dirt cheap, yet they think it is dear, oh dear me . . . |
