1124787 2010-08-05 22:57:00 Probably got a better panel. See Here. (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/)
:)

It won't matter that much, they are both TN panels. If image quality is most important, get an IPS screen. I think the cheapest is the HP ZR24W. If your budget can stretch an extra $20, it is worth it.

1124788 2010-08-05 23:47:00 I have sort of narrowed it down to these two:

!!! i assume that they are pretty good?? even for gaming and movie watching then?? for a average user the response time and contrast ratio doesn't matter that much does it??

as far as I can tell the only difference between the bussiness class and the home user class is the advertised response time and contrast ratio...

No, most business class have better warranties as they tend to be used more!, also have height adjustment . . . . and maybe swivel functions! . . .

1124791 2010-08-06 06:15:00 is it practical to get a few smaller monitors and join them together to make bigger ones? or i will be better off to buy a big one instead?? powerover (12121)

Depends on what you want to use it for.

If you need different info on different screens it's worth it.

If you're expecting 1+1+1 to equal 3 then you'll be disappointed. Also, the less you have, the less you have to go wrong.

I'd just go with the largest screen you can afford. If I were buying I'd go for a 27". I trust Viewsonic and haven't heard of anybody having problems. Samsung, not so much.

Instead of just asking us questions until the cow comes home, do a analysis:
Establish your budget.
Establish your needs.
Pros/Cons for each option.

If you have any specific questions about anything we can help you out. We're not very good at teaching you to suck eggs, however.

um thanks for the advice, it make sense . I shall do more research then .

But in the mean time:

Budget: up to $550-$600
needs: full HD, for gaming and movies, some general use

I think the only cons for buying viewsonic is that I don't like the look of them . . . . . the only pros for me buying samsung is that i had one already and i trust it, and love the look . . . . . .

one specific question I do have tho, that bussiness class Samsung monitor I listed in this thread, any good for my needs? I am worring about the low contrast ratio to be more specific .

cheers

1124794 2010-08-06 09:25:00 I can't believe I wrote "a analysis".

But there it is. For the world to see. Solitary tear.

That is all.

Both of them cost quite a penny, I'd recommend the 2nd one if you were willing to pay the price, although the Asus VH242H (playtech.co.nz) It's cheaper than both($299 incl P&H) and its comparable to my VX2433wm which is... AWESOME :)

1124796 2010-08-07 04:50:00 Nothing wrong with viewsonic monitors. Altho, when I brought this, the stand was pretty small, and it did look a bit tinny / a little tap, it'd fall over

All I did was replace the stand with a heavier one, and one that can move sideways / up and down. And you can change the height. The original stand didnt have anything
