841350 2009-12-20 09:55:00 Saw it in 3d on Thursday. Don't know how all of you got it for $18, mine was $19.50.

Was pretty good, not the best movie ever as some are saying. To me it was just Dances With Wolves meets Star Wars. Was too long, too many boring bits and not enough action, and when there was action it was mostly just the same crap, big bird meets big gunship, blue dude meets soldier.

But other than that, compared to other crap movies that have been coming out lately (I'm looking at you 2012) it was a good film.

Way too much hype though.

Titanic was better however.

841351 2009-12-20 19:55:00 Did you have to wear the stupid-looking coloured-lensed cardboard glasses for the 3D version? johcar (6283)
841352 2009-12-20 20:35:00 I'm going to see it on Tuesday night I think, in 3D, really looking forward to it!, ;) wratterus (105)
841353 2009-12-20 21:25:00 The glasses have improved a lot.

Plain black plastic glasses with clear lenses (though they must have something inside them)

Yeah the glasses are a 100% improvement, after a while I didn't even really notice having them on, and they worked a LOT better as well.

841355 2009-12-20 22:58:00 The only movie I have seen in 3D was one of the Jaws movies. In one of the scenes a diver fires at speargun at the audience, you could of sworn the spear was going to hit you. Everyone yelled out.

Can they be worn over corrective glasses?

841357 2009-12-20 23:55:00 Don't see why not.

And Trev, there is nothing that really jumps out at you in this (that I can remember anyway). Which I actually quite liked. Older 3d movies relied on "jumping out at the audience" moments, whereas Avatar just creates a whole 3d atmosphere without overdoing it.

841358 2009-12-21 00:42:00 No 3d in New Plymouth :(, still gonna go to it though, cant wait (actually will wait till cheap arse tuesday and a few weeks till the crowds die down....LOL) Gobe1 (6290)
841359 2009-12-21 00:58:00 Can they be worn over corrective glasses? SWMBO wears glasses and she wore them OK - Mind you one of her eyes is not so good, so she doesn't always get the full 3D effect. wainuitech (129)
