840912 2009-12-20 02:16:00 Well I believe the whole sordid affair tells you more about the parents than it does the children.

You see I believe that every child is born dead honest and the parents are responsible for how every child develops.

I can recall when there was a law which made every parent responsible for their children until they were 21, yes 21.

So if little Johnny stole, Daddy would be standing in Court beside him and he would be punished for little Johnny’s actions if the Judge felt it appropriate. And, if little Johnny was a repeat offender, then little Johnny was off to borstal.

Imagine how this would affect our graffiti artists if daddy got the bill to clean it up.

Yes, the touchy feely brigade has got a hell of a lot to answer for when it comes to crime.

I agree with the above, but what is to be done about it.

Until the pendulum swings back to where people feel responsible for their actions, then the above will continue.

840915 2009-12-20 09:58:00 Even a year in prison is awful. I couldn't imagine 17 years in one.

They committed the crime, and due to the law they were punished accordingly for it. Based on the circumstance they may not had done it, if they were not under the influence of a drug.

Their parents are partly responsible for their bringing up, however we have the gift of free choice, we individually choose our actions, and are therefor accountable for them.

I am sure the guilt and suffering they will have for the rest of their life, would be very unbearable now hopefully they've realized what they've done. Living with that for the rest of your life, well for some it may not be worth living in fact.

I pray for them, that after their time, they will come out better people, who will try to make the world a better place - one might say to try and redeem their self - however, they would have paid the price and therefor their wrong doings should not be hung over them and hopefully they will be able to continue, and move on.

Justice has been served.

Say that to Rowe's family. Who are you to say justice has been served?

840917 2009-12-20 10:12:00 Who are you to say it hasn't?

That is the law we have, and what we vote for and have established.

Killing them or sentencing them for further years in prison helps no one, and doesn't bring back the victim. Such vengence/revenge and hate, only leads to bitter hearts. It is difficult, but we need to forgive and move on. Part of many of life's trials.

I'm sorry, it's just that those kinds of things are best reserved for the victims to say.

When are people going to stop using drugs and alcohol as a defence for their actions?
