2010-01-06 06:58:00 | Oh well............ Had to take Jeep in for a warrant before i can register it, and its been in shed for 3 months and ive been starting it up weekly. and the last rego ran out in sep or oct? and then warrant in dec ( i missed this cos of it being in shed) well i took it to petrols station, then off to the WOF shop, ($46 Later) to be told it failed due to brakes being uneven... sigh, off to brake and clutch shop, booked it in and they checked it and fixed it, and then took it for a recheck on warrant......... ($151.00 later) all fixed and got a warrant. alas due to the $151 bill i now cannot rego it cos that was my budget sucked up......... so next pay day........i can rego it and each day it clocks over the more back rego i have to pay and the more i have to pay to get it back up to a 6 or 12 month rego......... Expensive beastie........ :( and people wonder why i want to get rid of my vehicles....:( and have just 1........................... :( i love my jeep, but every time i take it on it the road it costs money! and leaving it in the shed has cost money! beetle

2010-01-06 07:13:00 | i tried to put it on hold in december, but was refused due to it being over the one month allowed.............. so i was told i had to back pay to the date it ran out, alas at that stage i had no money on me, i went back once i had required amount of money to back pay, and then i intended to put on hold, but was told i couldnt due to it now running out of rego, so i had to re register it for 12 months (because of the delay and down time i cannot regieter it for less time)............. i was not prepared for that money wise so i said have to wait till next pay, went in today to get warrant so i could get rego, (so i could register it like i have too,) but alas i needed repairs for the warrant to pass, so i now can register it, but the budget is gone due to fixing it........ but i have a warraant so that all good! just got to be patient for the rego. clear as mud? no warrant means not possible to regiester........... beetle :)

2010-01-06 15:37:00 | Beetle, How many 20 year plus "New Zealand" mechanics and vehicle dealers have posted in this "New Zealand" Thread??? . 1 . warrant jeep . 2 . sell mazda for top money . 3 . rego jeep . 4 . finish house big stuff . Buy Toyota, rav 5, or higlux double cab petrol ute, 2x or 4 x 4, or petrol surf, highlander, as you dont want diesel . or give up your beach driving habit and buy a corrolla wagon . your usage requirements point towards 4x or 2x, or double cab ute/wagon . Toyota = higher entry cost, top reliability, good parts and service nation wide, most ergonomic vehicle on the road, very female dialated (Even the utilitys) . Toyota spent big dollars getting this right in the early seventies and they still have it right . If you dont buy a Toyota, then buy a mazda, = lower entry cost, not as ergonomic, motors dont last as long, use a little more gas . same, double cab 2x 4x ute, 4x4 station wagon type or 2x car station wagon type . Thats where your usage requirements send you . You stated your requirments of usage, thats where all buyers should start, you are one of the few smart enough to do that . Stick with the results or change the requirements . :)

2010-01-06 15:48:00 | no warrant means not possible to regiester........... beetle :) BS. LISTEN CAREFULLY, Because you will probably do something like this again. no warrant and no rego = buy temporary/limited registration for 1 year cost $40.00 approx. If they say you cant next time, tell them they are full of it and go else where This is the true registration cost of vehicle, rest is ACC Levy. You can then legally drive to get your wof at some time in the year. Then pay up the ACC for the rest of the year IF YOU WANT TO. You can not do this now as you all ready have a warrant, but you need to find some people to deal with who will help you because that lot ARNT.

I really want to test drive a ford escape, but nobody seems to have one in town, so it means a trip to palmy, and i have to fit that in some where . . . and also it comes down to me having the time to drop everything and run off to look for a car . . . . . . . . . i guess ive got to be more patient than i am normally :p thanks all beetle:) |
