2009-12-26 01:44:00 | and still feel that the jeep sitting in my shed is a safe reliable vehicle, it has height and space, just a bit more costly to run, but i feel safe and i feel my family is safe in it Then keep it Beets. Sell the Demio, take the money you get for it, chuck the Jeep in the shop and get it given a huge service, maybe go to a transmission shop and have the auto serviced too.....get the brakes serviced.......then bang some new rubber on it and it'll keep ticking over for some time yet. What you would get for a trade-in probably wouldn't make it worth selling anyway. Christ - ANYTHING to keep you away from a bloody Estima! :D

In Auckland and I know I am not the only one I feel real hatred to women driving big 4wds dropping off kids to school they call them bytch boxes here. These idiots take their kids from one side of the city to the other because their local school has too many maoris or islanders in it. We carry hundreds of kids to school everyday in our buses but our buses arent good enough for some women who still use big 4wd to drop them and pick them from school. She asked for advice... Not judgement. |

2009-12-26 23:54:00 | My wife insists on a larger vehicle too. That's why I keep her in full-sized vans and let he drive my K5. They eat a little fuel - but if she hits or is hit by one of those 4-wheeled lunchboxes, she wins. It's the least I can do for the woman I love and want to keep safe. It's a matter of physics and a kindness of not wanting my wife to come out second best in a head on collision or worse. Keep the higher vantage point when you're driving in the Jeep and you can see klicks ahead of you on the road whereas others driving powered skateboards can only see the lower bumper of your vehicles. Stay safe and you use so little gasoline, it doesn't really matter except to be safe.

2009-12-27 05:15:00 | I think that's more insane rubbish from the yanks. Crash tests show 4wds in a crash dont get as damaged as the cars but the people inside get damaged. The car gets damaged and the people get less damaged. Know what I would like, a written off car and to survive than me goneburger and my 4wd hardly damaged. Personally I would like people to get a permit and pay ****loads for the privilege of owning a planet destroyer for around town use. Talking large ones not the like terios, sportage etc.

2009-12-28 01:18:00 | You just hate me or Yanks in general? No matter what I say to you it's all crap and I'm sick of it . and being included in your personal tirades . If you ride higher then a smaller vehicle goes under you . That should make sense even in your world . Let me guess - you're a short person? Right?

2009-12-28 17:27:00 | I don't know that model here in the US - but I Googled it and got the pix below of a station wagon with full-time 4wd . That particular listing also says: Fuel consumption at 10-15 modes, l/100km 8 . 4 - and then it also says: "Power density= 7 . 71" . What's "10-15 modes" and "Power density= 7 . 71" . ?? Is that what you are seeing in NZ? I don't understand the NZ ratings and such - we use the King's nose for our dimensions .
