| 1126642 | 2010-08-11 10:11:00 | Hullo everyone. My new 'puter is here, so now come the dumb questions...:( The OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The HDD is 1 Tb. I want to have my program files on quite a small C HDD, My Documents on another slightly larger D HDD, and then Photos on what remains. However, I seem unable to 'shrink' my C drive to less than around half of 1 Tb. Ideally I would like that to be about 100Gb, and D drive 150Gb. Hints? I've checked the 'Help' and don't really get the answers I need. :help: As always, TIA. |

| 1126643 | 2010-08-11 10:48:00 | You can't shrink a volume beyond where some immovable files are located. Try a defrag then try to shrink again. | Snorkbox (15764) | ||

| 1126650 | 2010-08-11 19:46:00 | Have a read of this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) from post 9 onwards. It's not about partitioning but backups | gary67 (56) | ||

I see I have a 100Mb 'System reserved' HDD on the new 'puter. Not the OS - Windows files are on the next HDD (C). What do you think it is??? The System Reserved, that is... |
