1125938 2010-08-09 05:00:00 I had Vista previously, and the video played fine, now the video looks pixelated on all video and different players. My laptop is a HP DV5-1209AX. Video card is ATI HD3650.

I tried googling, this, but nothing seems to help.

1125939 2010-08-09 05:06:00 Did you download and install the motherboard and video card drivers after installing Win 7.

If not then do so.

1125940 2010-08-09 05:34:00 Yip, I've installed the graphics drivers from ati.com and hp.com.

I'm not sure about the motherboard drivers, there's none on the HP site.

Here is screenie of device manager:

1125941 2010-08-09 05:43:00 Those entries by the looks of it are for the card reader (the base system device ones). Dont know what the unknown entry is. Looks like the drivers are here h10025.www1.hp.com Speedy Gonzales (78)
1125942 2010-08-09 23:26:00 I wonder if it's a codec issue?

Were VLC and GomPlayer one of the players you tried?

1125944 2010-08-11 02:46:00 Yip, it happens on VLC player too. I've tried using older drivers, even drivers for Vista. Still the same big blocky pixels. Timbo (11006)
1125945 2010-08-11 03:17:00 i've got the exact same laptop and i put W7 64bit on it, then downloaded all the drivers off the hp site and never had any video playback problems. GameJunkie (72)
1125946 2010-08-19 01:52:00 Arrrgh, I tried installing windows & again and this time using every driver listed on the HP site and its still the same. :(

Its the same problem as this guy. But he had luck just by reinstalling drivers.
