1125701 2010-08-08 08:26:00 Hi there,

I have a webserver at home which my mates download stuff from and I fiddle with stuff on. I have Telecom Big Time broadband (soon to expire :annoyed:) and I use www.dyndns.com to give me an easy to remember name for my dynamic IP address. My router has a built in feature that auto-updates the dynamic record with www.dyndns.com whenever my IP changes.

This system has been working for about a year now but suddenly it has stopped working... well kind of. My webserver works locally, i can type my router's external IP in and that also works and I can also type my free domain name in and that works. I've tried using the nslookup tool and the dns record for my free domain is pointing to the right ip address there.

However, when anyone outside the telecom network attempts to access my server, they can't connect to it using either the ip address or the free domain. For example, the facebook application system can't see it, www.ping.eu can't find it and I can't get it at school.

Any ideas?

Thanks for checking... it's really wierd. Can you try my IP address: 125.238.243.215?

Thanks! Has anyone else got the same setup or similar? The most annoying part is that it was working absolutely fine until about a week ago - and I haven't changed any settings or altered anything with Telecom...

1125706 2010-08-08 10:51:00 If it's pointing to the right IP but not getting through then check:
1) Port-forwarding
2) Firewalls on router
3) Firewalls on PC
4) Other PC malware

Is it still that? Because according to tracert it's 125.238.203.219

I am also on Telecom, and I can't access it.

Has the OP try the tried and tested method of router reboot?....try that 1st then as Chilli suggests, check the port forwarding!

1125710 2010-08-08 23:01:00 Check your DynDNS account online, your service might be blocked... GR8Metal (14133)
