1126955 2010-08-13 00:11:00 Hi Cicero,

I'm back. Do you want a Manual for your motherboard in PDF form?

Thanks Snork.

Do I need it now that I have Win7 on here?

I would like to remove Vista,as my H/D isn't big enough for both..
I have a 1/2 T/B h/d but don't know how to install.

1126956 2010-08-13 00:16:00 So I take it that you now have a dual boot system ( Vista and Win 7 ) and want to remove Vista? Snorkbox (15764)
1126957 2010-08-13 00:42:00 Boot off the Win7 dvd. Delete all partitions then create one, then reinstall Win7 Speedy Gonzales (78)
1126958 2010-08-13 00:46:00 My advice too Speedy. I would hate to mention the likes of BCDEdit or EasyBCD at this time and confuse the issue further. :-) Snorkbox (15764)
1126959 2010-08-13 00:50:00 If you have both Vista and W7 on the same drive - I would think you missed one VERY important step .

You should have wiped Vista -- The video I made and linked in Post 27 shows the complete steps, the only difference is you would only have one partition unless the drive has been partitioned into more . I think you may not have deleted the original Vista .

IF you do have a dual boot - I suggest start again, this time watch the video I made .

These following pictures show Vista on a separate drive -- when it gets to This screen ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/one1281656384 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) - on the RIGHT- Circled, click Drive options(advanced) -- I think this is the step that was possibly missed --- then select each drive one at a time and delete As shown Here ( . imagef1 . net . nz/files/Two1281656491 . jpg" target="_blank">www . imagef1 . net . nz) . On your drive there will be two partitions at least - one Vista and one W7 .

The reason for saying wipe the lot is when you remove Vista, you will have to fix the boot loader in W7, Windows 7 wont boot without Vista if it was Dual Boot - then the front section (partition) of the drive where vista was will be blank .

You may have to move the partition -- and that can sometimes all turn to custard . Better to start again .

That'll remove it form the menu, it wont give you back the space. Well you could go to msconfig / boot menu in Win7, delete the Vista OS (which removes it from the menu I think), make Win7 the default OS, reboot, then delete the files on the Vista partition

If you mean by dual boot, having both OS's on the hard drive then yes, when booting it stops at one point and gives option of Win7 or Vista .

I am thinking of gettin 500gig H/D fitted(which I have in the drawer)and having both, what do you think?
