| 1126944 | 2010-08-12 09:06:00 | Just a hunch -- Do you have another bootable CD, doesn't matter what it is, XP, Vista, ubuntu -- just to check that the W7 DVD does or doesn't have a fault that wont allow it to boot. If you dont, download Partition Logic (partitionlogic.org.uk) the ISO file in the CD ROM image. Extract out the ISO file, burn it with ISO software - then see if the PC will boot from that. Its only 4.5MB and may as well get something useful. Real dumb question ( yeah I know :p ) but it does have a DVD drive and not a straight CD drive ? |

| 1126947 | 2010-08-12 10:17:00 | Go into BIOS and turn off full screen logo for a start while I go find a manual. | Snorkbox (15764) | ||
| 1126948 | 2010-08-12 10:50:00 | OK. I think you actually have an Asus A8N E2 motherboard as there does not appear to be an Asus A6N in the list. If so I have now got the Manual here which I can attach to an Email and send you. Now go into the BIOS > Boot > Boot device Priority and Press Enter on the first item in the list and then change it to CDRom. Select the second item on the list and change same to Hard drive. Move around using the arrow keys. I still have your Email address here so I can attach the manual as a PDF if you want it. |
