| 843418 | 2009-12-30 18:00:00 | Two simple Questions; When has an airport security crackdown actually caught a terrorist? When has an airport security crackdown actually thwarted a terrorist attack? However, what the airport security crackdown does do is it creates the illusion that the authorities are taking effective action, and are managing the threat. This nonsense has removed the USA from my list of places I wished to visit, I just hope it hasn't extended to Canada, as we p[lan to go there next May. Quite right,it just make them work out how to get round the system as happened the other day.Nigerian chap. |

Not difficult.:groan: I don't think that it requires a great deal of thought to work that out.:groan: Sorry Roscoe but you obviously don't know, or are not using your brains. Many people are on things like Frusemide or similar. Once in a govt office in Christchurch I asked permission to use their toilet - no way - I had to go down the lift and walk about 200 yards ot the nearest public toilet. I pointed out I was on Frusemide and had about 2 minutes before I would wee no matter what I did to stop - so probably I would wee in their lift. They hurriedly found me a toilet. I was dealing with an arrogant difficult woman - the next day I had to visit again - this time a most helpful, courteous, and practical gentleman was just the opposite - same office - same requirements - totally different attitude. Probably the best advice is to avoid America. Having once lived there I have made sure I never went again. Lovely people, very friendly but subject to a dreadful way of life. They do deserve better and hopefully things are changing for them. |

| 843420 | 2009-12-31 00:39:00 | Thomas: The majority are not on Frusemide but the majority still want to use the toilet all at the same time. Those among us who are not on any medication should try to make things easier for themselves and others and use the toilet before the meal. I am still of the opinion that if you do not want to wait in a queue, you go before the meal. Alongside with those on medication you could put children. I had an incident (similar to yours) where I took my (then) three year old to the first class toilet because cattle class had queues. The hostess told us we could not use the first class toilet until I told her to tell that to the three year old. If my child could not use the toilet NOW it would end up on the floor. She changed her mind immediately - not that I was waiting for her permission. How do you tell a three year old to hold it in? I agree with your thoughts on the American people. I have always found them very helpful and very friendly which I find hard to understand living in such a sick society. So yes, avoid America. Go westward to Europe. |

The reality is that if they could theyd put everyone in a chemically induced coma while onboard for safety! |
