| 1127378 | 2010-08-13 08:52:00 | Hi I gave the OK earlier today for my machine to download some security updates but the download has been stalled at 4% for several hours which causes some slowing although the system is still trying (and making plenty of noise). I even turned it off for an hour or so but, on rebooting, it just picked up where it left off according to the little yellow download icon. What do I do? I'd be happy to give it a kick to keep going or to cancel the download. Either is fine but I do want something to happen with it. Am using XP with SP3 and 1.5MB RAM. Any advice greatly appreciated and I apologise if this message appears on the forum twice - my elbow got in the way as I typed it out first time round and that message disappeared. Regards and thanks. |

I checked it out when I had finished working on the machine this evening, then did the express download as suggested and 10 update files were down and done with in no time flat. Brilliant. Thanks again. |
