| 845655 | 2010-01-09 23:43:00 | Its a established fact the American CIA trained Militant Muslim in the early 80 to fight the "Evil Russians lol" which was largely what we would call now terrorist training. The American CIA has been involved in cold blooded terrorism for many decades, there is a ton of websites and books detailing there deeds but of course most in the West don't want to know (use google if you interested). Its ok to back "Militant Muslim" as long as they are doing your dirty work. As soon as the "Militant Muslim" turn on you they become "Evil Terrorist" that must be stopped as they are threatening our freedom lol. The first step to stopping these conflicts is understanding them, not buying into the propaganda on either side. How very true... Ken |

You can't but win by putting octogenarian nuns through full-body scanners. All that can be done is to lose - slowly. After all, if you can't even address what you're up against with any honesty, you can't blame the other side for drawing entirely reasonable conclusions about your faintheartedness in taking them on. This goes to otherworld (ie: Upsidedown Land-ers) ones too: They just ain't HERE to see the citizen's fear and same time self-loathing for what this has cost the general populous. Yes - we have mirrors in our bathrooms too, just like youse guys. Uh huh, it's only a matter of time until creative jihadists shove balloons filled with Semtex (C4) where the sun don't shine - and then, at an TSA-allowed potty hour - use the airliner's restroom - and er - retrieve it. I'm personally surprised they haven't thought of it yet. I mean, if you are willing to blow your private parts off for Allah, what's the harm in playing a little 'go fish' in the plane's loo? The average American citizen can be destroyed by most any adverse encounter with an LE security bureaucracy within it's own borders. In the name of the Patriot Act , Americans are no longer individual citizens but instead have become wards of the state. The Bill of Rights has been suspended by any reasonable - no, make that "intelligent" observation. So-o-o - instead of doing what is needed, such as profiling (not PC) and performing intense background checks (too invasive to rights that don't exist for the mo' anyway), vapid and Draconian security measures are foisted upon American citizens that have been in this nation all their lives and are themselves not members of the religion that is solely responsible for all the onshore terrorist attacks. It is all so George Orwell - now that he looks like a prophet - although that is a severe case of Monday morning quarterbacking. |

The first step to stopping these conflicts is understanding them, not buying into the propaganda on either side. Now were getting some where. All true statements. However, the US is not the only administration to play this game and not be able to put the genie back in the bottle. They were not the only Trainer/Instigator in the Afghan border region, Pakistan turned its "freedom fighters" on India after the Russian pull out. It then lost control of them, and a segment of Pakistani intelligence is now controlled/aligned with them. This is one of the elements that make Afghanistan so complex and difficult to control/resolve. Pakistan is now being seriously destabilized almost to the point of civil war, by these same elements. Considering that they are a nuclear power, the nightmare of nuclear armed Islamic Militants is not totally unreal. The Saudis have played a similar game with the Wahabis and now much regret it. Their on again off again meddling in Yemen which has been a simmering mess for the last 130 plus years has not helped either, although they have not been the only on again off again operators in Yemen. These Proxy war methods have been used by all major combatant nations since recorded history began. They have become more prevalent as Mercenarys were fazed out, then and outlawed. The Russians and the Chinese are just as guilty of this offence as the US. So much of the strife in Africa can be laid indirectly at the feet of Russia and China. Understanding is the primary step to resolution of any conflict. However it can also lead you to a brick wall if one of elements of one side is simply not interested in any solution that does not make them the TOTALL victors, as with the Taleban. They could become part of the democratic process in Afghanistan but have an all or nothing position, which is globally untenable. |

It is all so George Orwell - now that he looks like a prophet - although that is a severe case of Monday morning quarterbacking . Americas competing law enforcement and intelligence agencies and self interest political system make this mess the way it is . They need to consolidate to the: FBI, NSA, CIA, and close cooperating customs/border control . The NSA would be required to gather and supply equally to All 4 groups and the 3 armed services wing's where relevant . If such was done, some personal freedoms lost could be restored, and you could win much faster with much less pain for your own population . The US always gathers the relevant intelligence . It just so often gets lost/left off the bottom of the report in the interagency cat fight over whose info is the most relevant/reliable . America needs someone in the white house with some seriously large testosterone containers to do this . And to then go on and over haul the entire electoral and representative system . Current guy dont got it . |

| 845662 | 2010-01-11 06:15:00 | America needs someone in the white house with some seriously large testosterone containers to do this . And to then go on and over haul the entire electoral and representative system . Current guy dont got it . There were Hawks in the W/H for a few terms a while back (remember?) and everyone thought they gave the US a black eye and a fat lip - at the expense of some really bad public relations and the rest of the world's attitude toward the Ugly American . Now that there's a minority there, the White House - the world is/was supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy . This new perceived kindness of and by common US citizens (and ultimately the whole US government by association) had for being so kind and benevolent to a president of color, not to mention a gen-u-wine good guy who was gonna give everybody FOUR chickens in every pot, a servant to cook them and a stable full of SUVs plus a performance sports car . Oh, didn't he say that the whole world was gonna have that too? I forgot . While most presidents promise to work on a problem or two, this guy took on every conceivable social problem from bad tasting water to glowing nuclear waste, closing Gitmo and releasing those poor unhappy and misunderstood non-war prisoners and returning god to his seventh heaven and everything and everyone would be happy again and would love each other and sing Cumbayah, arm-in-arm . Oh - and the US was gonna pay for it too . The wheels fell off his cart as general malaise set in - (not to mention that the economy finally imploded from pouring money out to buy international friends and national opinions) - and unhappiness about his not getting anything actually done is just like when the emperor's clothes which were finally seen in broad daylight . This international hand out was the concept and platform for his (then) unheard-of astronomical voter's approval ratings and ultimately his election - but it has now been seen that sense and sensibility left when Elvis did - and are never gonna be seen during this (and possible the next TWO) administrations when they have to return the nation to a more normal-internal-condition in the aftermath of feel-goodmanship . Too bad for the rest of the world - while they then wait for their next hand-out - since order and definition will become an INTERNAL priority for at least the next 10 or 12 years . The money exporting and food carrying ship is not going to sail again! Now - MY observation ->>>>> The US will go isolationist for a while - and it will be for a long time until things get cleared up on a domestic level - not even mentioning or even thinking on a worldly level . While this is happening - the rest of the humans on the Blue Marble will be 1) bereft of US concern about your abode(s) and lifestyles or lack of either 2) and the US will not even CARE if you all go nuclear or back to rubbing two sticks together to make fire . Did I mention that "O" is gonna be a one-term prez? I'm just reporting the things I hear on the street, read in the papers and generally see in the faces of people who lost their homes, food and income while taxes have gone ballistic and won't EVER consider investing in banks, the stock market or real estate again . The waters on which all this floated for generations has dried up, and there is a new cynicism and deep resentment for the rest of the world as to what the US has done in the past and will likely NOT DO in the foreseeable future . If you are looking for the milk of kindness, the New US is not the cow . |
