When we were young we had to steal neighbour's ladder to go anywhere higher than ground floor. There were no doors that we knew about... just large holes in the walls. And beds... I once heard that wealthy folks slept in beds. If only we were lucky enough to pay to sleep on the scrap-heap car doors we scrounged for. |

I was happier then and I had nothin'. We used to live in this tiny old house with great big holes in the roof. Well, when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a sheet of tarpaulin, but it was a house to us." pressf1.pcworld.co.nz We didn't have two way lighting....oo er, the dark at the top of the stairs....houses were painted in that dark brown, brown lino, very dark and dingy...scary especially when older brother told about the ghosts awaiting... In the winter the bedroom was so cold that ice formed on the inside of the windows, and the glass of water on the bedside table would be solid ice by morning........straight up. :wub |

The only lighting we had was from our dad burning our clothes. And ice... well that was only useful to us to warm us up from the below-freezing temperatures. |

| 845533 | 2010-03-22 06:33:00 | Nope. It was "The running, jumping, and standing still film" that won every humour prize I ever awarded for short films. If it had been longer audience collapse would have decimated theatre crowds. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
