Slow down the faster the speed the bigger the mess. On the flip side people that drive below the speed limit for no good reason, cause a lot of the accidents, they are often oblivious to the cars stacking up behind them. If someone is doing say 95, your not going to try passing them at 100 unless you have a death wish lol, and most cops won't pull you over for doing say 115 overtaking safely as long as you back it off after the manoeuvre. |

| 844107 | 2009-12-30 09:31:00 | If you are both doing 100km/hr why would you want to overtake & risk getting a speeding ticket? The law says MAX 100km/hr. I know I am not the only one who gets peed off when driving along at about 100km/hr & some twit has to overtake just because they can! Road rage is fully justified...lol Probably because the other twit is a geriatric on the corners or as we have on the Carterton straights where the passing lane is, they all speed up to 100km until it finishes. Bloody plonkers. |

Unless it's a electronically controlled tranny, like mine. Foot flat, drops a gear, and you're away. And this is coming from a 24 year old Jap car. |

| 844110 | 2009-12-30 22:47:00 | So I take it if it was a Honda Accord or a Camry with a 2 . 4L V6 it would be somewhat similar? Or is this more the family car designs with the Japanese? If I recall you can get sporty cars that is Japanese but not V6, how are they like out of interest? I believe Japanese don't have as much V6/V8s as Holdens and Fords right . . . No its not a Japanese car thing . My last car was a Mazda MX6 V6 2 . 5 KLZE 200HP stock, and that had snot loads of talk and great power to wieght ratio . On the open road it only needed a modest press of the accelerator to get the power on to pass . If you wanted it to kick down then sure nail it . My wifes "european" BMW Z3 is a hunk of junk, even though its a small car you have to rev the nuts off it to get any power (she loves it I hate it lol) . The Camry is no thrills family sedan . |

The newer Camrys don't look too bad either not sure how they perform thou still the same old no frills type? I take it that many people have those type of cars must be digging the accelerator in if they speed like that on the highways (well some of them). I may overtake at 120km and then withdraw my speed to 105, there is a car like a Mazda 626 1990s model, overtakes me like a fly before I have the opportunity to withdraw my speed with a baby onboard I saw and it just kept on going.... I seen that the new cars might be 3L can be more economical than a 5yr old 2L car :D Anyway, a correction the Camry is actually a 2.2L automatic. |

Every manufacturer has their own name for it. thats actually there to make the power band wider. basically has one cam tuned to give good power at low rpm and another to give good power at high rpm. ie grandmas car and sports car combined, best of both worlds. gives a nice wide usable power band. there are various variations, some for sports car, some for economy. |

Well the MX6 is small and pretty old now, but with 4 wheel steer great to drive, loved it to bits. But they are VERY fuel hungry, and lucky to get 8K's per litre. Not uber quick around 0-100 in 7.5 stock, but a ton of torque very smooth for a small car, is why I used it as an example. |
