| 1127348 | 2010-08-13 10:07:00 | Thanks everyone for your input ;) I agree with GameJunkie. Unlocker is the best free program you can use. I find it very good. get it here ccollomb.free.fr Downloaded it, tried it -- no good :dogeye: it tells me there was an "error" deleting the file, and even on a reboot can't do anything with it :( thumb.db is a system file for windows o/s with config details on how to display the folder. Do you have show hidden files enable on folders? Yeah -- I think this file is a hangover from when I had XP ... from what I've read, Win 7 doesn't use this Thumbs.db file for storing thumbnails anymore ... I'm at a loss as to why it's even there! Boot from a live linux CD and delete or plug the drive into a linux machine and delete. I have found that under windows some file that you are unable to remove can be easily removed under linux. That's why I have dual boot on my laptop, ubuntu and windows. I will try this tomorrow (the drive is in use tonight as part of a backup) |
