I just got a new full HD TV with a built in freeview tuner a few days ago and have been enjoying crisp digital channels.

A few hours ago my digital channels were 'lost' and trying to retune them in failed as there is no signal (says 'signal lost').

Being new to the freeview scene a I am wondering if this is due to some sort of network outage i.e. IS anyone else in the christchurch area experiencing the same problem?

Or is it just me and therefore something wrong with my tuner or aerial (although I get the analogue channels ok)?

cheers

844508 2009-12-31 10:24:00 'Signal lost' can mean a few things, but basically it means that the TV is no longer receiving a signal (duh). So it could be that your aerial cable has come out of the TV, or been damaged somehow, or your aerial has been damaged / moved. Or, like you inquire there could be something wrong on the transmission end.

I see that you say you get the analogue channels ok, does that include Prime?

Freeview HD is transmitted on the UHF band, along with Prime, so if you don't have Prime, but have 1, 2 and 3, then this would narrow down the possibilities.

Prime is fine.

I just did the 'reset to factory setting' and it has found the digital channels again. Bizzare and annoying as I now have to go back and set everything up again, but at least it's fixed.

No idea what caused it though

My freeview set top box occasionally comes up with signal lost, have to turn it off let it cool down and turn it back on.
Has your tv got the required space around it for cooling?
