| 1128338 | 2010-08-16 06:25:00 | Hello - can someone please please help??!! I use Kaspersky Internet Security and the free version of Ad-aware . The system was ok until Kaspersky couldnt update properly and wouldnt roll back either . I did full Kaspersky and Ad-aware scans but this didnt help . On the Kaspersky site I saw that the 2011 version had recently come out so decided to download and install it . Things seemed ok until I turned the computer on again later that day and found the mouse and printer didnt work . The next thing was that while using the computer the Kaspersky 2011 disappeared . I found that I should have uninstalled the 2010 version before installing 2011 so downloaded and ran Kasperskys removal program but then reinstalled the 2010 version (by mistake from the shortcut that hadnt been removed) . The error message for the USB drivers is : Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware . The driver maybe corrupted or missing - code 39 . The following have yellow exclamation mark : Intel( R ) 8280 1FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 2658 - 2659 - 265A - 265B USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 265C I have downloaded and run - Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and TDSS killer . One of these found a Trojan . I also downloaded and ran Uniblues registry booster . exe - It stated that my system was badly affected but I havnt purchased it as I have no knowledge of this type of thing or if it can fix the problem with the drivers . I have run windows/Microsoft updates . System restore wont go back beyond the date things went wrong . Have also downloaded and run CCleaner and done another deep scan with Kaspersky . In device manager I have tried - update driver, uninstall/reinstall driver, scan for hardware changes and troubleshoot Here is my system info - OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 5 . 1 . 2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard System Model Presario V2000 (EL109PA#ABG) System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8 GenuineIntel ~1596 Mhz BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard F . 12, 12/09/2005 SMBIOS Version 2 . 31 Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32 Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1 Locale Kuwait Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5 . 1 . 2600 . 5512 (xpsp . 080413-2111)" User Name Time Zone New Zealand Standard Time Total Physical Memory 768 . 00 MB Available Physical Memory 220 . 87 MB Total Virtual Memory 2 . 00 GB Available Virtual Memory 1 . 96 GB Page File Space 1 . 06 GB Page File C:\pagefile . sysn . | 1128339 | 2010-08-16 06:44:00 | I use Kaspersky Internet Security and the free version of Ad-aware. I have downloaded and run - Windows Defender, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and TDSS killer. One of these found a Trojan. I also downloaded and ran Uniblues registry booster.exe - You're making it worse. Uniblue is bogus. Delete it. Download Spybot - this should be updated and a scan run weekly at least. Malware Bytes is also good. That and Kapersky is all you need - Kapersky though will only be useful for viruses - the other two for spyware. Also download and run Hijackthis and post the log here for Speedy to check over. Once you have taken care of the spyware then you can worry about the drivers. You may need to download the chipset drivers among others from your motherboard manufacturers website. |
