1128306 2010-08-16 06:20:00 Is it possible to back up favourites from I/E and F/F? Cicero (40)
1128307 2010-08-16 06:37:00 Yes.

In IE8 > File > Import and Export > Export to file.

Dont use Firefox as I prefer IE. You can imort the Bookmarks from IE into FF.

Thanks Nom,as [I] said I had found F/F via Favourites but have you tried back up,you get a JSON do dah which is useless.

Eh? If you import that into firefox it will restore your bookmarks.

When you say backup, are you wanting a html based file?

You can get a firefox extension to read JSON files if you're interested in browsing your various favourites backups files.

Simply want to save favourites for when I reformat this computer.

I have exported as HTML so all ok.

Ahh. In any case, both methods (html file or json file) will work.

Though I find the Json file is (in my case) smaller size wise.
