846450 2010-01-07 02:58:00 Think you have to have a bigger dish than the Sky one.

846451 2010-01-07 03:42:00 Would you have to move it to align with with sats and move it back to OPTUS D2? prefect (6291)

Sometimes you can just mount another LNB on the same dish which allows you to get a signal from another sat. I've seen a dish with 3 LNBs on it which picked up signals from 3 different satellites.
Sky also put a dual LNB on their dishes usually as they used to, and will be in the future as well, use signals from two different satellites.
Otherwise yes you do need a motorised sat dish to move between satellites.

I can pick up a couple of the ozzie channels on mine as well as freeview, sbs I think, which is good when the ashes are on. My dish is however slightly bigger than your average sky type dish.

How do the motorized ones work?
Can you operate them remotely to get to different satellites?

Whatever you are using to receive the signal, stb or dvbs card and software, you tell it that the dish is motorised.
It then moves the dish to the correct location depending on what satellite/channel you want to watch.
