847030 2010-01-09 05:08:00 In your desire to have a rant about Americans in general, you seem to have overlooked Joe's statement "here in the US" . Joe is talking about American laws, not NZ laws or how NZ should follow US laws . You are living up to your username .

Some people here think Joe is the representative for his country so it is OK to direct a rant to him about his country . It it is unfair to take out your feelings or opinions on him . How would you like someone to have a go at you just because you are a New Zealander and they don't like New Zealand?

I SEE YOU STILL HAVE YOUR LIGHTNING SRIPES, JACKBOOTS, AND BIAS, WELL POLISHED .

The man like many of his kind, means no harm, HOWEVER HE keeps giving advice that is not relevant to this country or the situations in this country and is confusing some members who seek to be disconfused .

About issues that are IMPORTANT TO THEM FINANCIIALLY .

He now knows among other things that our postal workers do not have the power of arrest .

It is a fault of his education system that he did not know this, not a personal fault .

I have just spent several years being shot at for them, Anti American I am NOT .

I have been shown by their action's, many times over the years, where so any of their problem's come from .

This is reality, something clearly you have no concept of .

847031 2010-01-09 05:20:00 A long time ago I was told to treat everyone on the road as an idiot.
I still do which is why I'm still alive.

Treat EVERYBODY on the road as if they intend to kill you, and give way to everything even whenhave right of way, if the other looks like it may not obey the rules.

Taking your legal RIGHT of way, resulting in a collision, may lead to a charge of failure to avoid a collision.

847032 2010-01-09 05:42:00 There is no such charge as failure to avoid a collision.
The government of NZ does not expect all vehicle drivers in NZ to have reflexes of a fighter pilot.

How much money would you like to put on that??????

is one of the phraseologys in: inconsiderate/careless/ dangerous, use of a motor vehicle.

IE the use of the vehicle was careless in that the operator did not try to avoid a collision because he had legall right of way.

common at red light running, 2 people see red light runner and stop.

no 3 dosent stop, and screams I HAD RIGHT OF WAY, after he collides with red light runner, he could clearly see, and should have avoided.

1 get written up for running red light, damgerous driving, other for, carless use "failure to avoid".

both will lose licences.

You can't get done for carless use.

Let's say I see a vehicle coming though the red light and stop in a hurry.
The following vehicle collides with the rear of my car.

Am I careless as I should have seen the vehicle behind me?
