Please nominate for me just one politician that one could regard with the same respect as is held for the Queen - Even Prince Charles for all his indiscretions and failings would get more respect than any politician. Do an honest cost/benefit analysis on any change to a republic and I suspect that the proposal would fail. As for NZ joining Australia , its a great idea, Australia has the 16th largest economy in the world, and this with a population of just under 22 million. Unfortunately for NZ, why would Australia want to run with such an idea - on a cost benefit analysis, NZ gets the majority of the benefit while Australia picks up the costs. |
