| 846467 | 2010-01-07 02:10:00 | Well dint know about that. I did a course yrs ago, and they tried to force me into doing actions songs and all that crap (I'm Maori). I refused, because I didn't go to this course to do action songs. In the end they kicked me out. Sometime later, I found out that I should have told the labour dept. The place would have been prosecuted What you speak of applies in lots of gov. departments, hospitals, teaching college etc and is what, like you I object to,ramming down throat stuff. |

| 846469 | 2010-01-07 02:33:00 | lol. Well the Govt WERE'NT as bad. At least, if you have / had a valid reason not to go, they accepted it. They didnt force me to go. If I wanted to do action songs etc, then I would have started at an early age. Or joined the patea maori club lol. But thats not my scene. If I want to do something, I'll do it when I'm ready. Not when someone tells me to. Mine was a computer course (well most of it was accounting stuff). | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

| 846471 | 2010-01-07 02:49:00 | 25 years ago I went on a school day visit to a Marae with my daughters class. After being harangued in maori for at least 15 minutes, I got up and walked out - shaking my head in disbelief!! Sat in the car and read a book and listened to the radio till it was all over. One of the teachers, a maori guy, said he always had the urge to do the same, but being a teacher and a maori he felt he could not. Never been near one since. Ken |

| 846472 | 2010-01-07 03:00:00 | I was at a marae for a wedding, one of mates married a maori in Rotorua. At the welcome onto the marae there were these long form chairs outside for people to sit on. I was drunk and fell backwards flipping over the form chair and knocking down the ones behind me domino effect. Hurt some peoples knees that needed bandaging. Needless to say I was escorted off the marae grounds so drove to pub still went to wedding and after match back on the marae later on. I thought I was going to be in buku crap but some people said the welcome went on for ions and they wished they were me. |
