| 1128866 | 2010-08-17 23:41:00 | This old Intel LGA 3.4 GH system was running at very high temp of around 90C. Vacuumed clean the box, removed heatsink, cleaned the cooling fan, cleaned and reapplied thermal paste, re-installed heatsink, etc. etc. Rebooted and checked the temp which has been dropped to ~76 C, which I think is still too high. Remembered it was running at around 50 C when new. Motherboard temp is pretty good - at 30 C What do you suggest I should do to reduce the temperature? Give it a Panado? :D |

Word, Photoshop, etc. it even shuts down a couple of times. After the cleaning up, temp does drop down to ~60 - 85 C. I'm now running a System stability test (from PC Wizard 2010) which stressed the CPU to 100% and the CPU temp is ~80 c |
