846985 2010-01-08 06:50:00 I saw an ambulance with it's lights flashing today driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic. Don't ambulances have to obey the road rules or can they drive on the wrong side of the road and go as fast as they want? lance4k (4644)
846986 2010-01-08 06:52:00 The cars on its side of the road should pull over and let it past. pcuser42 (130)
846987 2010-01-08 06:55:00 There was an ambulance driver that had an accident of some sort a few years ago & as I remember it, he got done for speeding amongst other things. So as far as I know it's only the biggest gang in the country that can do as they like on the roads Phil B (648)
846988 2010-01-08 06:59:00 As a driver you have to give way to all emergency traffic.
But the drivers of same do not have an automatic defence in a driving in a manner dangerous charge.

So as you were a witness to this event go make a complaint.

846989 2010-01-08 07:07:00 Thought ambulances could only 'disobey' the road rules if the emergency was a certain grade of urgency or something like that.

Either way, if you were dying at home, wouldn't you want an ambulance to get there ASAP?

Some time back the Police did not have sirens and lights as they were being used to get home for lunch quickly.

846991 2010-01-08 09:00:00 Anyone complaining about ambulances rushing critically ill people to hospital should leave their names with St John. With a note if my family or myself ever am critically ill and carried in your ambulance take all the time you want.
I am really disgusted to know there are people who would complain about ambulances rushing to a hospital or picking up some sick dude.
