1130093 2010-08-20 23:11:00 I'm looking to build again and want to use a case with cleanable fan filters to keep the inside from accumulating dust. I've looked at the Corsair 600 but I don't like the USB ports on top with no cover to keep crap from falling into them. Any ideas?

1130094 2010-08-21 03:05:00 The USB ports will be at the back as well. So they'll probably get dust etc in them anyway. So, probably no point in worrying about keeping them clean Speedy Gonzales (78)

1130096 2010-08-24 06:19:00 What about making your own? I shouldn't be too hard to adapt a 1/4" thick bit of sponge foam. SoniKalien (792)
1130097 2010-08-24 06:23:00 I bought some mesh filters from Trademe a few months ago, just took them off last week to get rid of the dust and wow there was heaps on them nedkelly (9059)
1130098 2010-08-24 06:34:00 Have a look at Aywun AI-GO1
I recently bought one. Fairly basic but does everything I want.
I did a mod on the hard drive bay. Turned it 90 degres to inprove the air flow.

1130099 2010-08-24 06:49:00 Pctec mentioned this company back in 2006. I've looked at their catalogue and they have cheap removable filters($5.00). I guess what I'm asking is for feedback on quality mid tower cases that have filters and are quiet. There's so much to choose from it's hard to know where to start.

1130100 2010-08-24 08:19:00 If you are looking for quality, then the AI-GO1 may not be what you are after. But is is priced accordingly.
As for sound, I have 120mm front intake & rear exhaust quiet fans on a heat senser switch.
It is the quietest system I have had.

1130102 2010-08-25 09:07:00 I had the Aywun A1-G04 for about a week. You put the PSU on the bottom. With a side window

It had 2 blue 120 mm fans (one on the front / back and I installed a normal one on the top).

It was crap. After a few days, the PSU kept making whining noises, the first one actually blew.

Replaced the PSU, after a while it did the same thing. So, in the end decided to biff it. And replaced it with a Huntkey case ( 2 120mm fans, USB/Audio and E-sata on the front). It was actually cheaper than the Aywun ($60). The Aywun was $80

Its quiet as.
