1129557 2010-08-19 10:12:00 Why is it if you wish to compose an answer to a question the logon period seems about 2 minutes (+ or -)? I often compose a considered response to a question -post it- and find I am no longer logged on. Lately re-logging on seems to mean you have lost your post??? Is there a method of staying logged on for longer? (One fingered typist)! PPp (9511)
1129558 2010-08-19 10:14:00 PPp .. do you mean logged on as in PressF1 forum, or the Quick Reply box on a thread ? SP8's (9836)
1129559 2010-08-19 10:25:00 The Post Reply tag PPp (9511)
1129560 2010-08-19 10:34:00 just waiting to find out how long it takes for me to get a timeout, but I usually use the quick reply box.

Stopped typing and waited 5 minutes ... no time out !!

1129561 2010-08-19 10:40:00 Mostly I use quick reply. Your problem may be due to you exiting PressF1 in order to look up other sites in which case I think that would happen. Snorkbox (15764)
1129562 2010-08-19 10:43:00 PPp ... I suggest you ask one of the moderators as they may be of greater assistance than I can be. SP8's (9836)
1129563 2010-08-19 10:43:00 No, I think it may be I'm a bit slow with the bigger posts, and trying to write what I mean!! PPp (9511)
1129564 2010-08-19 11:07:00 Ever thought about voice recognition software ?? The kids found it on my comp running XP SP3 before I ever knew it was there. You talk - it types !! Much easier if you have someone show you first rather than by trial and error. Don't know whether Speedy on here may be able to help you, but no harm in asking !! SP8's (9836)
1129565 2010-08-19 11:18:00 Try previewing your post as you compose it, then submit when you are done. feersumendjinn (64)
1129566 2010-08-19 11:23:00 Have you tried cutting and pasting?

Go to PressF1 and read. You find a post in which you want to give a considered reply. CTRL A to select. CTRL C to copy. Open Word or Open Office or Wordpad or any other word processor. Go off and make your reply by selecting your reply and once again CTRL A CNTRL C and paste into the reply box.
