| 848626 | 2010-01-14 03:24:00 | Mum has just been telling me how my sisters primary school has just got 10 Macbooks and 15 iMacs and biffed most of the windows PCs. So why are they spending twice the money for half the specs and program compatibility issues? Especially with students bringing work home to work on and then taking it back. Is it a nationwide thing or just South Canterbury? Edit: Alot of primary schools in my area are going towards Macs not just one btw. |

They only get away with it as the people it affects are children and have no say in the matter. Personally I believe all schools should be running Linux, and they should ensure the use of cross platform files and programs, Give every kid a CD on it with Open Office and The Gimp. |

OMG I have been trying to get the IT HOD to install The Gimp all YEAR! And firefox... mainly because IE crashes when you have more than two tabs open! |
