848022 2010-01-12 07:24:00 It took nearly 2 months for my fist to come right after ramming it through the wife's near brand new all-in-one printer, Damn thing would not accept that there was an ink cartridge in it, Not a very handy feature, after hours spent pulling that damn thing out, sticking it back in, It got the smash.

Which just reinforced the wife's view that I'm a near caveman, She goes to see what all the commotion is about and I'm out on the back lawn smashing up her printer.....

848023 2010-01-12 07:29:00 On the other hand I have an HP printer which I bought when I was running Win98SE.

It still works under Win 7 64 bit.

I never have liked all in one printers.

848025 2010-01-12 08:03:00 Here I am with my ancient Laserjet 5p with genuine toner costing $5 bob_doe_nz (92)
848026 2010-01-12 08:03:00 We have had two Epson Stylus Photo 890s over the last 7 years, which cost more than entry level models, but were hardly expensive. I probably contributed to the first one's demise by removing the chips on the old in cartridges to see if it would still print without them :p, but if the second one lasts another two or three years, then that would be an average of around five years printer with no issues whatsoever. :) maccrazy (6741)
848027 2010-01-12 09:30:00 Our printer just stopped printing yellow the other day. A clean of the heads (after a cartridge replacement as it was low) and it worked just fine.

About the cartridges, that problem isn't so bad when there's separate cartridges for each colour.

848029 2010-01-12 11:21:00 Think it was an Epson.

The most frustrating thing was the damn print-head wouldn't come to rest in the space so you could get to the damn cartridges, Just had to keep hitting the button, The damn print head would roar all over the place for a good few minutes, stop, start, hum, jitter jatter, and then come to rest in the worst possible spot.

So you either hit the damn button again so it could repeat the routine and end up in a different yet equally as useless location or you just grab the damn thing and force it to where its meant to be.

Then once you re-seated the ink cartridge that was giving the error the damn thing had to go through some crap arse, loud as hell, buzzing all over the place crap for a few frustrating minutes before telling you the ink cartridge isn't present.

So you hit the damn button The damn print head would roar all over the place for a good few minutes, stop, start, hum, jitter jatter, and then come to rest in the worst possible spot. etc etc etc....
