1129762 2010-08-21 10:56:00 Want me to check it out?? Umm, so the other end of this din plug has a yellow and red (or white / or only 1 of them)? RCA plug, and the yellow is plugged into the video out on the cam? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1129763 2010-08-21 11:05:00 Perhaps I should take a pic or two as that would explain it better. Will do it tomorrow as pics come out better in daylight.

Thanks for your help so far. :)

1129764 2010-08-21 11:13:00 This, the 3rd pic ?

Umm, is there a cbvs / AV line in option in prefs?

1129765 2010-08-21 22:23:00 Just slightly off topic. I have a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 XP RM for sale.

Yes, that is the one in your link.

Here are the pics:

Camera: www.imagef1.net.nz

Video lead (yellow plug) connected to Mini DIN cable? (black) connected to AV Line-in cable (multi-plug cable): www.imagef1.net.nz

The WinFast PVR (www.imagef1.net.nz) screen.

To add to the fun and games I connected the VHS player to the PC in a similar way and am unable to view a tape playing on that either, though I do get sound.

Not quite sure what you mean by "is there a cbvs / AV line in option in prefs?" Apart from the above screenshot there isn't anything else to select but I can choose CBVS or S_Video or Live TV. Currently only Live TV shows a picture.

1129767 2010-08-22 06:00:00 Try viewing it in VLC. I have a USB dongle that has composite (yellow), s-video (black multi-pin), and audio inputs. VLC has an options menu when you select your input source to configure it, in my case it has options to choose between s-video and composite inputs, among others. ubergeek85 (131)
1129768 2010-08-22 06:03:00 Umm remove the adapter (that you plugged into the yellow cable from the cam), and plug the yellow cable (from the cam into the blue plug (from the din plug). Then play the tape. See what happens Speedy Gonzales (78)

Tried that and found that I don't have the "Image" tab as in your second pic to select composite video, etc . When playing the tape in VLC the counter is ticking over but the playback window remains blank .

Tried that long ago . Still no picture .

I'm now coming to the conclusion that there is something wonky with the software rather than the hardware but reinstalling has not helped .

Are you still using this TV/capture card Speedy, or have you upgraded to something better?

1129770 2010-08-22 06:37:00 I used to use the Leadtek deluxe tuner a few yrs ago. BUT, cant with this. Since its 64 bit. And it doesn't work with 64 bit (and there are no drivers for it) Speedy Gonzales (78)
