Re: Start drilling series of 500mm drill bits from the top haha... Wow!

849264 2010-01-17 03:51:00 I dunno how I wire the cat 6. The upstairs is fine from the attic with router in the cabinet at the corridor. No idea how I get it downstairs...

Its either drilling a whole floor down, inside the walls or it is putting the cable outside the house on the wall. Like how our VHF tv antenna is done. That is if you are not ripping walls out.

There is some room under the house but that doesn't cover all the floor space. While I may be able to install a wall jack for the bottom floor, how do I route it back to the router upstairs (inside the walls)? Hence the tv guy just put the wire outside on the house's wall.

There is also no cupboard or wardrobe you can drill down to get downstairs. It is like you drill a hole down the centre of a bedroom's carpet along the wall side to get to downstair's back wall.
Wished 2 ADSL modems can work on the same line .......

849265 2010-01-17 06:23:00 Run one single cable to the downstairs then install a switch then you can run all over the bottom floor to where you need them. Only way since you can't have two routers gary67 (56)
849266 2010-01-17 06:29:00 The problem is how I run that cable downstairs. It will be visible :annoyed:

Only one room downstairs that needs a jack.

849267 2010-01-17 07:00:00 Ok, maybe the retro cabinets is not too bad, a Bosch oven/cooktop and probably a Bosch rangehood, got a big discount.

First time having gas in the kitchen :D

Stainless steel bench top and a sink like this:

At the mo, we have just the tub and around it is the brown bench top thing, a few times when we filled more water, the tub sank lower, haha ... :p and partially disattached itself from the bench top.

849268 2010-01-18 20:05:00 Well it is not just my computer cable. The kitchen gas pipe cannot be piped easily. Need to wait for a quote in the mail, cos they couldn't give us one on the spot.

There is a gas hot water heater beside the kitchen outside but the pipe is too small, ie the oven gets it, there will be no hot water. But then the kitchen is at the other side of the house compared to where the gas meter is situated  Maybe concrete floor drilling. Well a ugly gas pipe on the front wall of the house doesn't look too attractive :p Or pipe the gas inside the lounge to the dining room to the kitchen :p
