2010-08-23 11:20:00 | Is it safe to delete things from the Downloads folder in Win Vista? I seem to have so many in there and it takes a longer time to load them all now. LL

2010-08-23 11:36:00 | I suppose. Provided you don't want or need anything in there. Personally, I always hang on to copies of installers, etc, but I move them to a different folder. | ubergeek85 (131) | |

2010-08-23 11:47:00 | I always move them to a big, big folder I keep on the desktop, called 'stuff'. Contains pretty much everything except my media. Mostly side projects (eggdrops, scripting, disassembled PS1 games (I was actually the first to release a technique to view car textures in gran turismo 2), a few crawled websites, emulators for africa, etc) [/tangent]

2010-08-23 11:59:00 | Do you keep a 22GB folder on the desktop or a shortcut to same? | KarameaDave (15222) | |
2010-08-23 12:00:00 | Nope, it's 22Gb, sitting right there on the desktop. | ubergeek85 (131) | |

Huh, what an excellent choice in folder names you have. Mine is called Stuff too, although I never put anything other than a shortcut on the desktop. Installers for useful things I keep there, plus various other bits and pieces relating to that sort of thing. |

2010-08-23 21:33:00 | Yes, I have a folder in Documents called Program Installers, and I keep all the Installers in there. I was just wondering about all the other things, like updates and patches for Battlefield games etc. LL

2010-08-24 00:00:00 | It depends, will you want to use the patches again (eg pc re install) if you don't want em, nuke em

2010-08-24 00:05:00 | I usually only delete stuff when I'm running below a few Gb's of hard drive space. No sense letting all that capacity go to waste.
