1131063 2010-08-23 21:18:00 I always use the tool, only had it fail once. I've been finding recently I have to disconnect the PC from the net before running the tool - it phones home to check for a newer version and has been hanging on at point (for me at least). wratterus (105)
1131064 2010-08-23 21:26:00 Personally I use Revo Uninstaller (www.softpedia.com) portable version in Advanced Mode.

Only thing you have to watch out for is once the Norton Uninstaller finishes it wants to reboot - dont let it, just keep running through the Revo.

1131065 2010-08-23 22:22:00 Thanks that helps WayneMiddy (14028)
1131066 2010-08-24 00:34:00 Norton recommends using the uninstaller for the program, if that fails, use the removal tool.

(Might pay to re-download it, they have probably updated it since you last downloaded it)

If that fails, reinstall Windows.

1131067 2010-08-24 00:42:00 The Norton Removal tool still leaves truck loads of reg files and folders behind.

Revo will rip most of it out.

1131068 2010-08-24 00:48:00 Yeah, well Norton also recommend you to buy their products! Agent_24 (57)
1131069 2010-08-24 01:36:00 I note they also claim their product is an anti-virus! KarameaDave (15222)
1131070 2010-08-24 01:53:00 I do:
Normal uninstall
Removal Tool
Manual removal.
In that order if it's being difficult.
