850720 2010-01-22 00:02:00 Hi, So is it ok to use this in a corporate situation?
I would buy Nod32 but it is incompatible with our email server
The other option is to buy avast pro
We currently use AVG but it is up for renewal and i am not going to renew it

850721 2010-01-22 00:05:00 I have been wondering the same thing. Can we use MSE for business??? We currently use NOD32 for the 100 or so PCs and all the servers. We still have a few months to go before renewal. ronyville (10611)
850722 2010-01-22 00:07:00 I did have a look at the web site and it does say "Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your HOME PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software." so i guess not but is there an alternative corporate version? Gobe1 (6290)

850725 2010-01-22 01:16:00 Have just tried it here coincidentally, and it won't work because we're behind a proxy. Shame. nofam (9009)
850726 2010-01-22 01:22:00 You are quite correct.
I have used it on some as a trial as i transition to a new antivirus and it works fine, and we are looking at a new email server this year so i will purchase 1 years protection until i can get nod32.
I have found the EULA finally and it states "Use. You may install and use any number of copies of the software on your devices in your household for use by people who reside there or for use in your home-based small business." so i cannot legally use it for 50 users lol. But there is another coporate version called "Microsoft Security Forefront" which looks like the pay version. I will check it out.
