850600 2010-01-21 17:42:00 Have just been browsing a warehouse stationary flyer that was on the table and noticed all the Laptops advertised have the usual guff and ten under OS it says Windows 7 Premium and Not home premium.

I know we all know what they mean but is this false advertising to call it just Windows 7 Premium?

850602 2010-01-21 23:11:00 Isn't Home Premium pretty much the lowest variety of windows in the market anyway? Cato (6936)
850603 2010-01-21 23:23:00 Home Premium is the lowest Retail version, there is Home Basic, and Starter Editions, which is lower again, but as far as I know not available to the general public -- And there's a good reason -- its :yuck: I installed it on a workshop PC just to see -- NEVER again :D wainuitech (129)

Bought a Toshiba Netbook for SWMBO a couple of weeks ago when there were lots of specials on. It has Windows 7 Starter on it and it works pretty good for the little un's abilities. Just for Skype, storing photos, emails and so on, it seems adequate. It will do everything SWMBO wants. Can upgrade to Home Premium for $199 if I want to! Don't want to spoil her though

Horses for courses I feel.

850605 2010-01-22 03:44:00 What I meant was by them saying it's got Win 7 premium customers who know no different might think it is higher up the product range than say a home version gary67 (56)
