1132438 2010-08-28 04:34:00 Reinstalled OS to this MSI K7N2 MB only to find that the sound has gone! Have downloaded the driver from here (www.msi.com) installed but still cannot get the sound back.

Any ideas?

Checked. OK.

Or is the chipset driver must be installed? There isn't any in their driver site!

1132443 2010-08-28 05:41:00 The sound / LAN drivers are part of the chipset drivers. That's if you installed this NVIDIA nForce2 System Drivers for MCP2 of SB. Just dont install Nvidia firewall if its part of this install Speedy Gonzales (78)
1132444 2010-08-28 05:51:00 Check the audio tab in Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, in Control Panel, to see if the default sound is correct, or if not greyed out. kahawai chaser (3545)

I did installed the System drivers downloaded from their site, no Nvidia firewall included. Ethernet works fine.

Could it be the built-in sound is faulty?

1132446 2010-08-28 05:54:00 Was the sound working before the reinstall ?

Also, if you are not using front Audio on the case, make sure the audio jumpers as Circled here (www.imagef1.net.nz), bottom left are actually in the right position, if they are not then the audio wont go. If you are using front audio on the case, make sure the correct plugs are on the correct pins.
