Recently I bought a Toshiba Netbook on which Windows 7 Starter is installed. Also preinstalled was the trial MS Office which I decided to delete in favour of installing Open Office. I notice that the following are also installed and wonder if I need them or whether it would be safe to delete:Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition [ENU]; MS SQL Server Native Client; MS SQL Server Setup Support File; MS SQL Server VSS Writer. Thanks for your assistance :) |

Yep you probably can remove them safely. They are part of Office database things. |

They may be used by some _other_ program, Microsoft or non-Microsoft. MS Office does not normally install SQL Server. I recall some sort of photo/gallery app installing the SQL Server 2005 compact edition on my PC, but can't remember what it was called. |

You'll soon find out if something needs it. It wont work, if you uninstall it |
