| 1131929 | 2010-08-26 22:04:00 | Hey all, quick question. I want to access the recovery partition to retrieve the above .dll file in order to replace the current corrupted file on the laptop. Is it possible? It's an Acer machine (sigh I know) [Edit] Otherwise would the equivalent work if someone look through their Winodws 7 Home Premium 64 bit CD and send me the winrnr.dll file? |

You may have to use the expand command to extract it first. It'll probably work, if someone is using any version of Vista x64 (just copy the file from an installed version) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

| 1131933 | 2010-08-26 22:29:00 | SFC /scannow ? (might need a disc for that though) | KarameaDave (15222) | ||
| 1131934 | 2010-08-26 22:33:00 | Oops I read that wrong. You want it to win7 x64 not Vista. I could give you a copy from Ultimate. I could send it with teamviewer, if you want. How do you know its corrupt?? What program needs it? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

How do you know its corrupt?? What program needs it? I've just copied my Windows 7's winrnr.dll file into the Acer laptop, but the same error message still appears: "C:\Windows\System32\winrnr.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installating media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." |

| 1131936 | 2010-08-26 22:45:00 | SFC /scannow ? (might need a disc for that though) Doing that now. I don't have a recovery disk (darn), but the Acer laptop has a recovery partition, which is about 11GB. Does this mean I would need at least 2 DVDs to burn partition? [Edit] It hasn't prompted me yet to put in the disk. |
