852960 2010-01-28 09:08:00 Watched District 9 Blu-Ray version on my Sony 40" Bravia LCD TV. I would say that the picture quality was stunning, clearer than going to the movies and as for the movie itself, it says on the cover " It will blow your mind. It's a must see movie" thats if you are into Sci-Fi movies, brilliant.

852961 2010-01-28 09:12:00 Just watched District 9 couple days back myself, took a bit to get going but once under way had me hooked right until the end.

An excellent movie.

Then I watched T4,:annoyed:

Idiots.

I can't be feeling all right - I agree with Metla again.

852964 2010-01-28 20:40:00 Awesome move Trev, i have a bravia 40 myself and are saving for a PS3 for it now.
Saw District 9 two weeks ago in SD and i thought it was different, watched terminator 4 after and rated that at about the same as D9 4 stars (out of 5)
My Sci fi pick for the last 12 months is Star Trek 5 out of 5

852965 2010-01-28 20:49:00 Bah....Humbug.

I was looking forward to Star Trek, was disappointed as soon as that stupid opening scene got going. And it carried on in the same vein for the entire movie. I'd give it a 2 out of 5, Would have got a 1 if it didn't feature the old Spock.

It was as bad as the Wolverine movie, Fodder for the eyes and ears for an hour and a half and nothing more.

852966 2010-01-28 20:52:00 Oh well, cant please every body, have you seen Avatar ? I havent been yet Gobe1 (6290)
852967 2010-01-28 20:52:00 Yes ST 5 was good as will. Might hire the Blu-Ray version. BTW Sonys abbreviation for Blu-Ray is BD. Don't know whether it is the same for other manufacturers.

I enjoyed Avatar, Its a simple story well told but its pretty much a cartoon, Just a well rendered one.

I'll be watching it again on DVD when it comes out, Our local theater is so low grade that my dirt cheap home theater is far far better quality, So much of the movie was a blur when according to the reviews it should have been crisp and highly detailed.
