852768 2010-01-28 02:51:00 Hi, as some of you aware, we've been working on the kitchen .

It is a older style, that probably came with the house in the 70s or 80s . There are some double side cabinets that you can access in the dining room for example .

We got the new gas cooktop with new oven (all in one unit) and got the gas piped thru the garage and works great .

We had a look at the table tops and that was easy . Because we are keeping the old cabinets therefore the table tops are limited to 400mm depth (on the shorter side), edge to edge is 350mm for the sink .

We couldn't get the right size kitchen sink . We have been to least 5 stores and cannot locate them . Possible to get them? The smallest apparently is 420mm and most at 500mm .

So where we stand now is that either remodel a whole kitchen or get a 2nd hand kitchen sink or use the current one .

Any help appreciated .

Cheers

Look in the Yellow Pages under Stainless Steel Fabricators and Products, page 857/858 in the Wellington book. (I think you said you were in Wellington) There are several there, including Metric Sheet metal Ltd., D&G Ltd, Brightworks, and in Upper Hutt Bob Mullins where I recently obtained a piece of polished stainless from their scrap bin :)

852770 2010-01-28 04:56:00 Thanks for that yeah, in Welly, will look into it and see how pricey if a custom job. The bench top is fine they can cut that down with a saw provided it is wood and not granite, issue is the sink. Nomad (952)
852771 2010-01-28 05:05:00 Does the sink HAVE to be horizontal?

Put it in with a 60 degree back-to-front downward slope and you can fit a pretty wide unit in, ;)

852772 2010-01-28 05:37:00 Granite can be cut down too as can manufactured stone such as Corian just means going to a specialist is all gary67 (56)
