| 1132688 | 2010-08-29 22:14:00 | I am hoping that I can just use Home Cinema, which means I need not install VLC on my new machine (one less complication). Not that I have anything against VLC. Yes, MPC-Home Cinema will play pretty much everything. Get the K-Lite Mega Codec pack that has MPC-HC included and you should have all the codecs you need. |

Anyway, I want something with graphic equaliser and thumbnails, can take my existing playlists as well. Any idea?, oh and free! |

| 1132691 | 2010-08-30 23:49:00 | I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema for almost everything. I tried VLC but for some reason it would not play nicely with some other software on my PC (well, I never worked out what was wrong with it). I had to get rid of it and do a system restore. I have never had a problem with MPC. Great to get rid of Real Player too. | John H (8) | ||

LOL, your ears must have been burning, I just downloaded and installed...Haven't used it in years!...still trying to learn what it does, but must say I think its a bit busy and a little small...would be great if I could make it bigger (my eyes arent what they used to be).. Still, it does have an equaliser which I really miss from WMP12 |

If that doesn't work I use VideoLan. For audio, I use Foobar 2000. Uses barely any memory or CPU time and once you learn to use it efficiently, it's really useful. |
