852387 2010-02-10 22:04:00 Well he might...

You can only get Freeview HD through DVB-T, if the inbuilt tuner only did DVB-S then you'd have to get another.

So you'd have to check the TV specifications first...

And remember not everything they broadcast is 1080 anyway

TV is full HD, but the tuner is the old one I believe. Dumb:crying

Well yup I know you need DVB-T, I'm using one on this. Altho cant say I've ever seen a TV with a satellite connection on it for freeview. Tuner too old Rob? If the TV is recent, it should get HD , if whatever channels broadcast in HD (if its DVB-T that is). And if its full HD, why would it have a DVB-S tuner anyway?

852389 2010-02-11 12:03:00 I got it last year brand new, maybe the progs r not in HD? rob_on_guitar (4196)
852390 2010-02-11 20:22:00 Thats probably why, it'll say if its in HD or not when it starts.. It'll show HD. If it doesnt show HD, its not in HD. Like TV3 (http://www.tv3.co.nz/). Look at 8.30, on the right. It'll say HD 5.1, if its in HD Speedy Gonzales (78)
852391 2010-02-11 21:43:00 Are there big differences between Plasma / LCD / LED? something new will always be around the corner so is it better to get something less ideal.

There are no LEDs. Yet. There is LED backlighting.
The next thing will be OLED which beats both plasma and LCD.

Personally I don't care, as you say there will always be something new.

I bought a trying to be HD but not quite making it Sony LCD for $599.

Thats $500 more than I liked but the best I could do for new and not a crap brand.
