| 1454950 | 2018-10-26 02:33:00 | Went to see friends in their new dairy shop today. parking is abyssmal and the 4 spaces were full so naughty me parked on the yellow line opposite shop. After ages, one friend noticed the parking warden. I looked and said oh too late I get the ticket anyway now, he won't cancel it if I run over. 2 seconds later the tow truck arrives so I left and ran over then! By law they can't tow you if you have returned to the vehicle and I needed to tell him that, and he was a bit peeved I'd say. Took my ticket (2 mins was noted as parking warden time before calling towie) and hopped in vehicel. Oh well, his job....didn't comment to parking warden. So as I go to turn vehicle round and leave Mr Towie pulls truck up some more and stops in road blocking me and yells stuff at me. I say you can have a ticket too then for parking in the road (causing a small traffic jam) and he said $@%% so I said *$%^# back and off we went. Oh diddums, lost his tow fee.....awww. Tried to pay the ticket 3 times already but no, it says ticket not in system. I guess it's not instant? He must have to load it when he goes back? |

What you did had no consideration for the safety of the public and the dangers you presented by illegally parking on yellow lines. There's no excuse for that. |

Jamiesons Tow & Salvage Ltd v Murray [1984] 2 NZLR 144 (HC) The tow-truck operator cant tow your car if its in your possession and control at the time. So, if you arrive on the scene as theyre preparing to tow your vehicle, and youre able to get into it, they cant tow you. communitylaw.org.nz Safety?? What safety, the yellow line is outside a residential street. No safety and my issue isn't with the ticket at all, just the dick behaviour of the towie. He breached safety stopping mid road like that holding up cars behind him. |

| 1454955 | 2018-10-26 06:02:00 | I didn't say anything about being towed. However, they still have every right to charge a fee for the call out at a reasonable cost that covers their expenses. Maybe you should read up on that law and by the way, none of that law explains illegally parking, your rights are not the same. As for questioning yellow lines, don't be stupid. It does not give you the right to illegally park. Read that law while you are at it too. As for his behaviour, you can launch a formal complaint to his company. |

I said what safety, you haven't even seen the street, don't go all high horse about an area or situation you know nothing about. And YOU need to read up on the tow law. No they cannot charge you anything. They sure might try that on, but the law says they cannot. I do my research before making statements, maybe you should too |
