1454911 2018-10-24 21:35:00 Ok, so my new AIO cost a feckin' fortune and I've decided that regular cleaning of said product may be a good idea.

So what do we recommend as a good cleaner for the whole machine, especially the screen? I have read that any cleaner needs to be alcohol-free, as well as a range of other very complicated words.

For those of you that clean your equipment, what do you use and where do you get it from?

1454912 2018-10-25 00:04:00 Alcohol free, ammonia free, pH nuetral, anti static, non toxic, disinfectant, vegetable based is normally what most screen cleaners say they do these days.

Do not have any particular preference of brand, wipes are handy, sprays help with microfibre cloths, antistatic brushes, a dustbuster, contact cleaners that are plastic safe. HFC free compressed air. This sticky type of putty for the keyboard also handy, its washable.

1454913 2018-10-25 02:04:00 I wipe down my PC, monitor (other than screen itself), mouse, speakers, KB with whatever I have handy.

The screen, I just use those Isopropyl based screen cleaners.

No need for BS over priced nonsense.

Anything that does a good job .... well at your own risk. Ive seen the coating come off some screens  Usually not an issue though
and have seen the case of a laptop striped of its nice finish . :(

I use window cleaner and a paper towel . NOT recommended but works .

1454915 2018-10-25 02:48:00 I had a blue bottle of screen cleaner bought from pbtech about 10 years ago that just ran out and a spare cloth supplied for cleaning my glasses.
Google tells me screen cleaners can be made from vinegar or isopropyl alcohol and distilled water but I have no problem buying them given the last botle lasted me 10 years.

1454916 2018-10-25 03:34:00 vinegar is a good cleaner
You'd be mad to use it on electronics or your screen. Its an acid after all

"it could eliminate the oleophobic (a fancy word for oil-resistant) coating on the screen, which will create a bigger problem."

1454917 2018-10-25 06:21:00 I just use the glasses cleaner supplied when I bought new glasses, don't know what's in it but it seems to work just fine on my laptop screen gary67 (56)
1454918 2018-10-25 07:11:00 Just used a isopropyl alcohol wipe, provided by my optometrist, on my screen. Improved my eyesight no end!!
They are good for TVs' as well

1454919 2018-10-25 07:16:00 hmm..it's complicated.

Apparently vodka is a good substitute for isopropyl alcohol. What a decision that would be.

Sounds healthy; as an extra precaution you may care to consider filtering it through your kidneys first.
