1452952 2018-08-20 06:09:00 I’ve got a selection of over 1000 mp3’s that I’ve built up over the years and was given a Bluetooth speaker which quite impressed me.

So, I got another couple, but whilst one or other works fine, I’d like to have one in the living Room one in my Man Cave, and one in the BBQ area all playing the same music all at the same time.

(Turning the one in the Living Room up louder so the others can hear is not an option.) :D

The problem as I see it is getting more than one to “Pair” with the Bluetooth Dongle in the computer.

I guess it can be done, even if they use different frequencies, but I can’t work out how.

What am I missing? :crying

1452953 2018-08-20 06:58:00 Unless the devices are designed to actually Pair ( multi Devices ) you may be SOL.

Bluetooth is different to wireless.

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless solution for pairing one device with another, whereas Wi-Fi has greater range and works with multiple devices.

Read the replies Here How-can-I-connect-multiple-bluetooth-devices-to-a-single-bluetooth-device (www.quora.com) Read the first reply by MAX.

One place I went to a year back, the guy had more speakers dotted around the house than I could see, inside, outside, in the roof, walls, all rooms - All Wireless -- His setup was impressive to say the least, he said he could play the same music to all rooms at once - :) But when I saw what was sending the signals -- Lets say BIG $$$$ came into view. AND the sound -- He pumped it about 1/4

1452954 2018-08-20 07:25:00 You may need something like this: Multi-point-Bluetooth-4_0-Stereo-Music-Transmitter-Audio-Adapter (www.banggood.com) wainuitech (129)

Thanks Wainui.

Well I draw some comfort from the fact that it isn’t dead simple. :)

I note the first link you provided was dated Feb 2016 so held some hope that the problem would have been sorted in the meantime, but apparently not.

However, you second link provides some hope, as if I read it correctly that little device can handle two speakers but no more. I could get by with that and was going to buy one but wouldn’t you know it, they’re sold out.

Oh well, I’ll do some more research and see what I can come up with.

The bit about having to synchronise “Free Running Oscillators” that one chap alludes to has me gasping.

1452956 2018-08-21 05:23:00 Tell ya what B.M. :)

Ill let ya know in a couple of weeks if those devices work. Cheap enough, and I do have a couple of headphones that would be handy to be able to have both playing at the same times.

SWMBO is not as keen as I on the loudness when playing some movies, so I ordered the device to try ( as I said cheap if its crap so what)

I tried to connect the two headphones to the computer, one plays perfectly the other even though it connected is silent.
Downloaded some software that's meant to work / split the audio -- yeah - Na didn't. Did make a hell of a mess of playing music over the LAN though, they simply didn't play anymore, removed the software --Back to normal :)

The other option that I have not tried is two different Bluetooth Transmitters at once Hmmmmmmm Now to find the other one, its here someplace LOL

1452957 2018-08-21 06:21:00 Dahhh, should have started with Aliexpress. Half the price too, and not even the cost of a round of drinks.

However, I've been doing some research and can see a few problems with this Bluetooth.

Have a look at this;

There are hundreds of things using the same frequency spectrum and swapping channels up to 1600 times a second doesn't come risk free.

Frankly, I'm surprised Bluetooth works at all. :)

1452958 2018-08-21 08:52:00 Should be do-able with pulseaudio I think.
If I can track down a couple of bt devices i’ll give it a try.

1452959 2018-08-21 21:03:00 There are bt speakers that support tws technology. (True wireless stereo) Which means you can pair a speaker with another. But the version of bt that you're using may have to support tws as well Speedy Gonzales (78)
1452960 2018-08-22 03:50:00 I found THIS (itsfoss.com) for Ubuntu users and it might work with Mint seeing it's Ubuntu based, (I Think). B.M. (505)
1452961 2018-08-22 06:05:00 Further to above post:

I can't get two BT speakers to run on Mint following those instructions .

They will all run, but only one at a time, using a standard Dongle or Device .

To that end I think THIS explains it, (From Wainui's first link . )

However, I would like to be proved wrong . :)
