| 1452813 | 2018-08-18 03:33:00 | Very recently my ancient Samsung Galaxy S11 (2) phone no longer shows on my Pc as a connected device when I plug it in to a USB Port. Sometimes I get a warning Windows does not recognise USB Device I tried various cables but no change. The cables , when plugged in to a USB Port still charge the phone . I went on the Internet and looked at various suggestions re this issue. Also some YouTube posts,. Some make refence to select x item and clear he check box Such item x does not appear on my phone Another suggested using the dialler and keying in such as #*8088# but I got an error message. I use the phone as a Mobile Hot Spot to connect to Internet. I used to be able to access Internet by USB Tethering but in the phone that option is now greyed out. Very frustrating as I used to be able to switch music and photos between PC and Phone Can anyone think of any other options?. Thanks Neil |

Friends camera shots were hazy, but bh cellphone ones came out ok. |

Had that yesterday at a customers place, they tried every cable they had (all third party cables) wasn't till they finally found the original that came with the phone did it work. On my Phone ( different Samsung) you have to go into the Settings /More /Developer Options and tick USB Debugging, THEN it will connect to the PC OK. Normally there is some sort of USB Connection option. |

| 1452818 | 2018-08-23 04:48:00 | Hi BM, thanks. I downloaded your link. It listed many versions of Samsung GT19000 GT19200 but not mine which is GT19100. Wainui , as you mentioned each phone is a bit different. My phone has More Settings but not More and did not show a Developer Option there.. Yesterday "playing around" I found Developer Option elsewhere and tried "USB fix" No luck. Btw I tried with someone else's much newer phone using their official cable. It did not show up on my Pc which made me wonder if there is something I should investigate re my USB Port? |

| 1452819 | 2018-08-23 05:19:00 | USB driver here www.samsung.com Also, try another USB port, a known good USB cable. Uninstall any Samsung software Try installing Samsung Kies & see if that can talk to it Go into device manager & see if it show up there when you plug it in. Restart the PC in case its a USB power save issue Try it on someone elses PC , in case its a USB fault on the ph itself. |

| 1452820 | 2018-08-24 09:43:00 | Hi 1101 I tried the "support etc" link. Regretably it only goes back to S6 models. I tried the phone on another person's Pc . There is a "ping" sound when one plugs in USB but nothing displays. I had tried Device Manager many times -no joy. I guess I shall take laptop and phone to local Vodafone Store to see if they can diagnose the problem. i.e other than "your phone is too ancient" Oh to win Lotto so I can buy a much newer Cell Phone (and PC) as well. |

| 1452821 | 2018-08-24 10:01:00 | You first need to authorize the computer on the phone by connecting the phone to the computer via usb, then opening the phone up and using it's password then the phone will ask if you wish to allow the computer access, say yes and then go to the root display of the computer and you should see the phone there, I have done this on an S2 years ago so an S6 should definitely work. | zqwerty (97) | ||
| 1452822 | 2018-09-06 04:50:00 | Latest scenarios. Tried more suggestions from various sources. (1 person said using toothbrush on USB ports fixed his problem). Went to Vodafone (my phone provider) . Used their cable but no joy. Went to PB tech -they plugged my phone into 2 different PCs -no joy-said -'phone issue', Went to Samsung kiosk. They could only suggest Factory Reset. Yesterday 5 Sept I took the 360 Total Security Version 10.2.0.1089 (Free) upgrade. I ran it and noticed it ad a few extra stages v the earlier versions. Lo and behold to my great joy my Samsung GT19100 appeared in Explorer so I did some file swapping between phone and PC. I immediately created a new System Restore Point I was delighted.problem seemingly fixed. BUT I went out and when I later returned I rebooted PC and unfortunately back to 'normal'. The Phone did not show up when connected to PC. I reran 360 but no joy. I then ran my new System Restore Point . It took a long time then came up with an error message -'System Restore failed'. Today (6 Sep) I was surprised to see yet another Update for 360 total Security-. 10.2.0.1092. I installed the update and reran 360 hoping that, for whatever reason ,that might cause phone to show again-no joy. Hopes shattered again. Neil |
