1452557 2018-08-10 12:56:00 Has anyone got experience with Hyper-V?
I understand that it is a Windows 10 built in Virtual machine. If so, what systems does it support?
How do you install it?

1452560 2018-08-11 04:42:00 Yeah I use it on windows 2012. I have 2 windows 2008 servers. 1 windows 10 machine and 3 Ubuntu Linux machines all running full time.

And then I have another bunch of machines that I can run up as I need to.

1452561 2018-08-11 06:11:00 Before you go diving in to far, make sure the Main OS you are using can handle it. Server OS's will, for Windows 10 (host machine) you need Windows 10 Pro, Education or Enterprise.

Just google How to setup Hyper-V on google there are plenty of instructions. Heres one video I found. www.youtube.com

If you only have W10 Home you can still run a VM, just use one of the free ones like VMWare Workstation.

1452562 2018-08-11 08:13:00 I was thinking of running Hyper-V on one of my Dell Vostro 1015 laptop's (I collect them). Can't do it as the BIOS has no Virtualisation setting, and Windows 10 Pro tells me that the Intel Cleron CPU is not capable. I have a new Dell 17 5000 i7 CPU coming from Singapore, which has a 280GB SSD, and a 1T disc drive, so plenty of room. mzee (3324)
